Mac Peacocky Collection

So Ive been avoiding getting sucked into the large amount of Mac collections continually coming out because i was broke from Christmas present shopping!  But when I was Tempalia gave these shadows an A+ rating (she NEVER gives A+ ratings) I knew I had to check them out. And boy am I glad I did.  The texture of these shadows is perfection!  I went straight to the nearest MAC counter after work on the day this came out.  Heres pics of all the shadows, and lipglosses.

So of the lipglosses I got Enchantée (Light blue pink), and Scandelicious (Blue fuchsia)  They are both awesome!  Enchantee is the perfect pale pink, and Scandelicious is a bright beautiful fuchsia pink!

As for eyeshadows I got Mating Call (Dirty frosted violet), Tweet Me (Gold Bronze), Unflappable (Frosted black with purple pearl), Prance (Frosted mauve pearl ), and Center Stage(Frosted chocolate brown)

It was so hard to limit myself to just those!  Tweet Me is the only one Im not sure of, its a beautiful color but is a little to red/orange based, and I thought it made me look sick when I had it on my lid.

I've heard a lot of good things about Specktackle of Yourself, and I might be going back to check it out!

My Favorite Makeup Brushes

These are my absolute favorite brushes. 

First - Brushes for the face

Nars Loose Powder Brush - This is perfect for a light dusting of powder to set your foundation.  Usually I would be using nars loose powder.  Its the perfect denseness (is that a word?)  for loose powder.

If I am buffing in a powder (like MSF natural) I used the Mac 183 brush.  This is great for bare minerals as well, or even if you are buffing in a liquid foundation.

For blush I use the Nars blush brush, I used this in a circular motion when putting blush along my cheekbone.

For bronzer - Nars Bronzing Brush - I LOVE this one.  its super dense and amazing for applying bronzer!

Nars Concealer brush - I honestly use my fingers most of the time for concealer, but if i am taking the time to do a really good job, this would be the brush I reach for.

For Eyes

The basic brush that I use the most

Mac 217, I use this for everything.  Laying down shadow on the lid, crease work, you name it and this brush can do it.

mac 224 Brush - for larger blending areas, i might used i after using the 217

Nars Eye Contour Brush- this i used for smaller crease work, like if i am blending in a darker color in the outer V

Mac 219 Pencil Brush -  This is very similar to the brush above, but i use this for highlighting on the brow and in the inner corners

Nars Smudge Brush- This is such an awesome brush!  its perfect for when you are doing a smokey eye and want to smudge shadow as a liner, or ever to smudge your eyeliner you have already put on

Nars Push Eyeliner Brush - I use this everyday.  I prefer to use powder as eyeliner, so this is essential.  this is the best thin eyeliner brush I have ever tried, and i have tried a few.   A lot of them have frayed over time, so they loose the sharp line.  This one I have had FOREVER and its still in perfect shape.  you can use it dry or if you want the thinnest line ever (the kind that you can barely see and looks like your lashes but better) this is for you!

Mac 266 Brow brush - one I don't use a ton, because i don't fill in my brows all that much, but is great when I do use it

I also got this mini brush set from the local CCO - its great for traveling.  Also the 187 is what i use for my nars sheer glow foundation.  its amazing! best foundation brush I have ever used. The other brushes are pretty good. I picked this set because it seemed to have a good variety for when i travel!

Fabulous Felines Haul, Review and Swatches

Sorry Ive been MIA lately!   I have a bunch to catch up on!   I know this is a little late, but here's my Fabulous Feline Haul! 

I wanted to get more but I am pretty broke so I had to limit my purchases to the following three items!!

Burmese Beauty Quad

Showstopper, Burmese Beauty, Skintone 2, Prized

This is a beautiful quad!  the colors are dupe-able in my opinion, but not with things I have, hence why I bought it!  Showstopper is just a dark midtone brown, maybe like Charcoal Brown, Burmese Beauty is like Club, Skintone 2 is a really pretty light golden color, and Prized is a perfect peachy neutral.  Over all it can be used for a million different looks!

I will be posting looks using this quad soon so check back!

The other items I got were two pigments, Lithe and Bloodline.

Lithe is the perfect golden toned highlighting color,  its a peach based gold and is just too gorgeous.  You could used it on your eyes, or cheekbone as a highlight.  

Bloodline is similar to moth brown, they both have that taupe-grey-purplish color that is beautiful!

More Mac Into the Groove! and Chanel Swatches

So I went back to Mac and ended up getting Style Influencer Mineralize Eyeshadow!

When I went in the day Into the Groove came out, the only eyeshadow I got was Soften the Mood, but I kept thinking back to Style Influencer and the great dark blue (reminded me of Nars Night Flight).

It is a GREAT trio!  the brownish shade I thought was goign to be to reddish, and I am not a fan of reddish eyeshadows, I think they make you look sick. but I was wrong about this one! its a great crease color for blending a smokey eye, then the white is a great highlight.

And I also got two Chanel Eyeshadows, Vert Khaki, and Taupe Gris, i havent had enough time to play with them yet, so I am sure there will be some upcoming posts about them!

Lilash and more Into the Groove

I have been meaning to do a Lilash review for a while now, but I couldn't find my old pictures for the life of me!  I finally found them on my external backup thingy.   anyway here goes!

I started using lilash about 8 months ago.  I saw BellaMakeUp's review and a few others, and knew I had to try it!  I had previously been using Talika Lipocils, from Sephora, which has improved the health of my lashes, but not so much the length.

I could already tell the difference, my lashes were definitely getting longer!

I had minimal irritation, my eyes were a little blood shot for about two days, then that went away. 

Here is about 6 months in

I have NO MASCARA on here!  my lashes are CRAZY long.  so long they actually touch my sunglasses which is kind of annoying!  and sometimes i get mascara smudges on my brow bone because my eyelashes touch my brow bone!

I wish I took a before picture from the side to I could show you all what it used to look like.   My lashes were short and went straight out.  now they curl on their own!  and my bottom lashes used to be practically non existent

The skin on my eyelids is a little darker, but it does go away if you stop using it.  I ran out once for about a week, and my eyelids went back to their normal color.  Now I only used it about 2-3 times a week, so the tube lasts me FOREVER.

I also used it on my eyebrows, where I used to have a scar, and it completely filled it in within two weeks!  I cant say enough good things about lilash.   Its something I plan on fitting into my budget no matter what.  Its a necessity for me!

Where to purchase-   I have ordered both from their site and ebay.   Ebay is cheaper, but I have had a few defective bottles (ones that leak a littler, or the top pops off)  but most have been fine.  So its really a person choice if you  are willing to take the chance with Ebay.

Summer Trend - Coral Lips

So this summer one of the biggest trends has definitely been coral lips.   The last time I attempted coral lips, the lipstick I used was way to orange for me and it looked freakish.   I stayed away from most corals until this summer when I was bombarded with so many i figured I had to try them again! 

Here's some inspiration pics, and below them I list my favorite coral lip products!

Best Corals

Nars Lipsticks - I had to list a few, because I love Nars lipsticks! i think they have a great consistency, and in general you cant go wrong with ANY nars lipstick!

- Niagara (pink based coral) This is definitely a universally flattering shade. I gravitate towards more pink based corals, as I generally think pink lips look better on me. 

Casablanca (full bodied coral)  This is definitely a TRUE Coral, its beautiful, but takes a bit more confidence to wear than some of the others!

Love Devotion (sheer guava) it says guava, but it fits in with the coral theme.   This is one of my favorites because its sheer and just gives a wash of a pretty coral color over your lips (if you have very pigmented lips this will probably not work for you)

Outsider (shimmering burnished coral) this is a little darker (more like sarah michelle gellars lips in above pic)  this is GREAT with a tan!

Nars Lipgloss

Babe (sheer orange red)  this is one of nars best lipglosses in my opinion,  not to sheer, not to glittery (i hate big chunks of obvious glitter)

Nars Lip Stain
Rage - rose coral - Nars lip stains are hit or miss.  They are most definitely STAINS and will last all day.  They are creamy and heavily pigmented.   This is a great color for those people that want a bolder statement, or have pigmented lips.

MAC

Jazzed Lipstick (bright coral pink)  This is brand new with the In the Groove collection.  I didn't think I was going to like it, but boy was I wrong!   Its the perfect coral/pink for my skin tone! (mac f+b c3, nc25-30, nars punjab) Its what I am wearing in my 2 new Youtube videos.

coral love gossimer - this has been sold out everywhere I have gone so far, so I cant actually post a review.  but i WAAAAANNNNTT it!!!!
